Do Your Part: Stop Internet Censorship from SOPA & PIPA

Hi guys. I'll make a quick post today as something big came up. As you'd know the internet is going on a strike regarding the United States

House of Representatives and the United States Senate push to create a legislation on censoring the internet. This is a huge blow, not to

the United States alone but to the rest of the world.

Google's take on the issue.

SOPA and POPA respectively is a short for the "Stop Online Piracy Act," and"Protect IP Act." ("IP" stands for "intellectual property."). From their timid views, the bills are supposedly going to stop copyright infringement committed by foreign web sites. Don't you find it foolish? It's basically closing us to the freedom of the internet. In my personal opinion, if these bills are passed and implemented, it will create far worst results rather than good ones. Just to say, SOPA & PIPA are a bitch.

I'll make it short. Today 18th january 2012, a lot of sites are now on strike and is doing their own ways to make this issue known to all of us. Why not we take part in this deal and make them know that;

"THE INTERNET IS FREE TO ALL"

It's the holidays. What's up?

Hey guys. It's already been a week since my semester ending. Frankly speaking, the term blazed through the months unimaginably faster that I would have thought. I gotta admit, I wanted it to be longer. IKR? Why would I want it to be longer? It's hard to understand, but I somehow enjoy the life. The #foreveralone method in which I practiced over the years and particularly after my national exam (SPM), are going down the drain. I truly can't seem to stand being alone for a long time anymore. What kind of effect is this? I'd probably say that my personality is changing to the better(?). But then again, I seriously need some break. No, not the "donothingeveryday" kinda break, but truly a real break. Like go on for a holiday or something. For that to happen, I'd go back to my hometown where my parents are currently living in. I could practically go there in a snap. I would just go buy the tickets. I have two homes now, here particularly being with my whole relatives. So it wouldn't matter much on where I live. On that part as well, I'd be going back home soon to settle some of my things and meet up with old buddies of mine.

One good thing about this month is that most of them are having their break as well. Who knows, we might even go for a trip! I really anticipate that to happen. Seriously, being stuck in these two cities is depressing as it is. Heck, I would have gone to SNSD's Concert in Singapore. But all of that is held back by my lack of knowledge on when my term ends. It happens to aggravates me that I don't have a passport even and lack of funds oh and I'm not on the same land as them peninsulars. Hell, I never been out of Malaysia. Going there alone is daunting. I need a partner but that is seemingly impossible. Sucks I know. But oh well, it's done now. I'm going to jelly those who will be going, especially for those in the Sone Group that I'm in. Lucky chaps. Hope they'll enjoy it though. Should be their once in a lifetime experience. Dang. I seriously wanna meet them, for being their fan for 3 years. How can I not? :(

Ahhh. Enough of the rants. Even my emotional self is at an AWOL stage now. Even I can't believe this. I'm truthfully being gobsmacked by myself. All is self explanatory. I don't want to say any further. These kinda things are the hardest things for me to express. I find it to be hard on myself. But then again, when it comes to these, it never changes. NEVER. I'm glad I didn't go overboard last time but now? I find it hard to be relevant. I could generally categorize myself as being a coward. Yes. Somehow, if you've been my follower long enough to know, my blog header says

"Should I or should I not?" These are the questions that always linger in my mind. Should I or should I not?"

But after going through university life, I have become less hesitant and that is great. I can feel it on my own too. But like I said, it will only go so far, I still have more steps to take. But I know in time, I will overpower it. Heh. All through the power of one's mind and actions. Fascinating really. :)

Oh, apart from that. there's a new breath of fresh air that breathes into our life, and that's Zoe.
Did you remember my two fella's in my previous post? Roxie and Peanut. It has been hard for us, we've all fed, played, had fun, smiled together. But I guess God loves them more. It's history and they're busy playing with each other up there. Truthfully, I really miss them. Roxie & Peanut! Your master will always miss you guys :')

So? What's next? The house has been eerily quiet because of that. My sis & her bf, is especially taking it hard but she goes through her day though, like me. It's inevitable, life has to go on right? So yeah, a month passed but one day, I saw a picture of a pup. For once, I thought it was Roxie when she's a pup. But no, it's not. That pup was open for adoption catered by the SSPCA. Sis saw it too and was more surprised I guess.
So what's next? After the weekend came, we've gone to OneJaya Mall, where SSPCA organized an adoption day. We saw the pup but nobody had adopted any that day. We sighed in disappointment. After a few days, it's been decided. My sis really wanted to adopt the pup and therefore she did. The foster parent was quite friendly and young too, IINM similarly aged to me. On the day we brought Zoe back home, she was there to greet her to my sis. How sweet of her. If I were her, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to those you've fostered.

Zoe's a mischevious and playful. If I would to compare, a mix temperament from Roxie + Peanut. hehh.
After that, all is history.

I'm pissed off and confused. I need answers so I can relate even if it's bullshit. Is this life? I am still young and immature and yes rather annoying to some. But after thinking and questioning a lot, this automatically pops into my mind when I'm in a Twitterathon mood.

First off, hello! I'm back updating my blog. I'm not much of a blogger, let alone someone who types helluva lots of text. But today's an exception. It's an experience from my time here. Hope you guys get to understand what I'm going through here. Enjoy the read! :)

Okay. Here goes, My family back home always have a companion and protector for our house. His name is Cherish. Well isn't that a good name? We've been cherishing this poodle for quite a while until old. Cherish died at the age of 11 when I was 8. I can still vividly remember that moment. Well, I'm still quite young but it shows in my family, more so for my sister. She loved that fella like it was an extension of her.

So now, I'm continuing my tertiary studies away from my easy going hometown, Bintulu and gone to Kuching where all my relatives live. In fact, my family is the only one living in Bintulu, because of my parent's jobs and all. Okay, let's not get too personal with my privacy :)

So here I am, studied approx. 1 year and counting. In this journey, my sister and is also a member of the SSPCA organization, has adopted a pup in which we named her Roxie. She was a little one. We adopted her when she was only around 2 months old. My sis and her boyfriend gave the fella lots of treatment and vaccinations. All is well. But the thing is, Roxie is one lonely pup. We're all busy from day till late afternoon with our jobs and studies. So it's not a surprise to see Roxie having a lot of an energetic surprise during the night. Dogs need to release all that embedded energy after all right? Yeah. But because of that, the fella is prone to bite on our slippers, scratch on doors and such. Quite a pain to "jaga" (take care of) really. That is why after 4 months, we've adopted another fella into our family!

So? What is it with this lil fella? As my sis and her boyfriend was searching for another dog, a friend has come forward and gave us a pup in which he has saved from a nearby construction site. Oh my, when we first got to his place to pick 'em up. I instantly love that pup! It was the cutest of all. Walking on it's four legs clumsily. It is quite a sight. We've came up with lots of name for the fella mostly because of the black/white nature of his fur. But eventually we call that little guy Peanut. Heh. Interesting name? I find it cute! When Peanut came about in our life, it was full of surprises! He's a born escapist! That fella could escape from every nook and cranny in and outside of the house! Still, Peanut is a clever/kind fella, knows his way back. But too approachable is also a problem. Those strays, they're the problem now.

I'm sleeping. Shoo!

My area here have a lot of owners taking care of dogs. Be it in their compound, dog houses and whatnot. But strays are abundant too. It got me worried. Peanut is only 8 months old, mind you. But recently, I gone back home and my sis and her bf got to take care of them both now, until a day before I was going back. PEANUT GOT DRAGGED INSIDE THE HOUSE AND BITTEN IN THE LEG BY THE DAMN STRAY. The minute that incident happened, everything seems different now. Peanut is not the dude we've known. Less cheerful and literally we see no smile in his face. Ultimately, we think that's the end of it, thought that he might be the same old Peanut after awhile but no. A few days ago, we're in utter disbelief. Peanut began to show signs of "bad dream" as we call it at first, moving of the legs and body in his sleep. The day after, I was out. Peanut is bought to the vet and the vetenarian diagnosed him with "Canine Distemper", a viral disease. I was literally saddened by the news.

A few days gone by and the symptoms appear just as fast. Not gonna elaborate it but yeah, I was heartbroken to see Peanut that way. :'( A quick search on the net points out that there's no cure for this, just treatments. So yeah, we quarantined and gave that fella all the meds and meals.

Eventually, this is the point that I've realised, I'm quite a dog lover. I love my dogs. They're like a part of the family, I even wept. I'm not the person to be emotional but this is the breaking point. It's so sad to see something like this happening. Then again, nothing much can be done at this point. All we have to do is to give Peanut the best treatment and care. I am certain that he will regain his grin back. I always missed that.

Oh yeah. here I am again, updating my multi-functional blog. I talk about everything from personal to spazz-worthy contents and fun stuff. I would not give myself an award for consistent theme for posts. heh. Heck, I'm not much of a blogger too but I still keep it fresh because of its sentimental values. Yeah right. I mean I did this blog like around 2007? Look how many years has gone by and how many good/pathetic/unworthy/fantastic post I've got. There's one time where I checked up all my archives.

I can safely say my style of sentences, my thinking, my interest changes can be drastically seen. Awesome and cringe-worthy? LOL :D

It has been quite a journey these few months and a hectic one too. Not everything is going normal though, there's quite a lot of down moments. Not to say it's depressing or what. But it's somewhat the feeling of being uncomfortable with the way I'm handling things. But only one is more prominent out of all.

PROCRASTINATION.

Yes. I simply have this problem. Even since my secondary school days. So much stuff is distracting me that it's kinda a bit difficult to comprehend. I mean, one second I'm studying and another second I'm doing hell I don't know what. This had to go and I know it. :/

Another thing, as I've said that I had owned my first Apple product? The iPad2? Also, I'm the last one to get when it's launched? Oh how interesting it is. (I'm still not a fanboy if you'd like to know, tech geek in general is more appropriate. :x) But, everything got into a standstill when all my valuable belongings that I had, is stolen.

STOLEN. THAT IS RIGHT.

Long story short, my bag was stolen along with my sister's bag too. Though, most of the damage is directed to me. I've lost my laptop that I've deared so much and cared for and all my personal datas all gone. iPad2. As expected, everyone'sgiving the face of horror. Yeah I know it's a new toy of mine. But their reaction, does not coherent to mine. I mean, yeah. I bought the iPad 2 with my own expenses, lined up and all that shit but the thing is, I'm more concerned with my laptop even though it's not me who paid for it. Why you say? Just one simple answer;

EVERYTHING. It is everything to be. All of ME is there.

But I'm glad to know I had security measures done to it. Thank God. if not, all hell is breaking loose, all my sensitive details and such is stolen in the wight hands? It's like defacing you outta nowhere. (Over-reacting? A bit. XD) Besides, all my files, thumbdrives, disks, IEMS, mouse. Yeah, you know the line.

What is the moral of the story?

Folllow you gut feelings. You will never know how important it is. I didn't and paid a hefty price.
That's all I'm saying readers. Be careful and eary. Life is unfair sometimes but I moved on and there's much more to the future. Family, Friends loved ones, SOSHI. :PP
Off to another note, it's the holidays. I've finished my second semester and hoping for all the best result that I wished for.

I will end it with my beloved old gears & new gears + last multimedia assignment.
I simply love the girls and they're the inspiration for the designs. :D

My First iOS Device: iPad 2

Yeah. I was plethora of emotions during the wait and queue. I've always targeted upon this iPad 2 because of the sheer price that's surely got advantage of there other tablets in the market. For RM1.5K and for the quality device, it's worth every bits, even the long back pain.

So here it goes, I went to the mall after class like around 9+ am and there's a bunch of people waiting outside. I was taking out my laptop and got online via Starbucks (Nicely located even when it's closed). Then, there on, those poeple are like MAD. Running lie there's no tomorrow. What's after that? I got anxious and speed up my steps but still slow. The most funny thing is, the line there is already around 20+ people! I was flabbergasted. I never knew Kuchingnites (The place I live in currently) is such an iFag.

Enough of that, I'm just grateful that, I've gotten my iPad with the spec I wanted even though it's ain;t my preferred colour. but still, IT IS THE LAST UNIT. I'm still in awe.

Okay, after I got my stuff, the Switch staff took the last two customers ( me and another guy, same place I study at)

You know what? I first started off loving SNSD because of her, Jessica. I'm really glad to have known, love and get excited about this beautiful girl. She just makes my world rock! (SNSD in in the equation too )
I have never gotten this attached to ANY OTHER idol other than her before this. Which is a rather phenomenal feat for me. What's more, Jessica's personality attracts me like no other. I'm not sure if it's because of my 1st impression of her but personally, NOTHING can compare in the realms of kpop world today. What's more to say? She got me into loving SNSD and her madly. It's the best discovery, no, the best emotional present in my fandom life. There's not going to be Birthday video uploads for you this year. Not because I don't want to but because of the drawbacks I'm experiencing now. I gotta say, it's quite astounding that Jessica Jung Soo Yeon, just a girl can manage to change so much in my life, not for the less but for the better.

So what do you guys feel about the song? I know LQ audio is pretty crap, but the tune and everything is quite catchy and is very SNSD in a sense. This type of genre is not usually heard on KPOP or even mainstream music nowadays. Japanese boy teaches lesson in sacrifice (Japan 2011 Tsunami)

Just wanted to share this simple and touching story to all of you. I won't say much on this post, just let the story touch you as well.

THIS letter, written by Vietnamese immigrant Ha Minh Thanh working in Fukushima as a policeman to a friend in Vietnam, was posted on New America Media on March 19. It is a testimonial to the strength of the Japanese spirit, and an interesting slice of life near the epicenter of Japan's crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. It was translated by NAM editor Andrew Lam, author of "East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres." Shanghai Daily condensed it.
Brother,
How are you and your family? These last few days, everything was in chaos. When I close my eyes, I see dead bodies. When I open my eyes, I also see dead bodies.
Each one of us must work 20 hours a day, yet I wish there were 48 hours in the day, so that we could continue helping and rescuing folks.
We are without water and electricity, and food rations are near zero. We barely manage to move refugees before there are new orders to move them elsewhere.
I am currently in Fukushima, about 25 kilometers away from the nuclear power plant. I have so much to tell you that if I could write it all down, it would surely turn into a novel about human relationships and behaviors during times of crisis.
People here remain calm - their sense of dignity and proper behavior are very good - so things aren't as bad as they could be. But given another week, I can't guarantee that things won't get to a point where we can no longer provide proper protection and order.
They are humans after all, and when hunger and thirst override dignity, well, they will do whatever they have to do. The government is trying to provide supplies by air, bringing in food and medicine, but it's like dropping a little salt into the ocean.
Brother, there was a really moving incident. It involves a little Japanese boy who taught an adult like me a lesson on how to behave like a human being.
Last night, I was sent to a little grammar school to help a charity organization distribute food to the refugees. It was a long line that snaked this way and that and I saw a little boy around 9 years old. He was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts.
It was getting very cold and the boy was at the very end of the line. I was worried that by the time his turn came there wouldn't be any food left. So I spoke to him. He said he was at school when the earthquake happened. His father worked nearby and was driving to the school. The boy was on the third floor balcony when he saw the tsunami sweep his father's car away.
I asked him about his mother. He said his house is right by the beach and that his mother and little sister probably didn't make it. He turned his head and wiped his tears when I asked about his relatives.
The boy was shivering so I took off my police jacket and put it on him. That's when my bag of food ration fell out. I picked it up and gave it to him. "When it comes to your turn, they might run out of food. So here's my portion. I already ate. Why don't you eat it?"
The boy took my food and bowed. I thought he would eat it right away, but he didn't. He took the bag of food, went up to where the line ended and put it where all the food was waiting to be distributed.
I was shocked. I asked him why he didn't eat it and instead added it to the food pile. He answered: "Because I see a lot more people hungrier than I am. If I put it there, then they will distribute the food equally."
When I heard that I turned away so that people wouldn't see me cry.
A society that can produce a 9-year-old who understands the concept of sacrifice for the greater good must be a great society, a great people.

I know it's been quite some time ever since the last time I've blogged. I admit, I'm not the blogging kind, even if I'm free, I'd do something else there. For me, I think, needs some changes. It's for the better I presume. :D :D

So first things first,

Less porsonal stuffs for me, more to content for now on. As it's not really relevant to my multi-purpose blog here. >.>

Anyways, let's get on to my favourite past time, on the web, desktop customisations. :D

Here are the list of the desktop customizations that I've done durng the past few months. It's either with Windows or Ubuntu 10.10. Both have their advantages and drawbacks as well. So, won't babble too much and get straight to the screenshots yo! :D

1st Reincarnation with the beautful theme. :)

After awhile, slight changes and rainmeter skins.

Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat 10.10 Customizatin wth default theme.

The start of the Omnimo aka W7 phone inspired skin.

Similar screen after that with added warmth & neatness.

DestroyTwitter as a great addition. It works like a dream. :)

Yes. DestroyTwitter on Ubuntu and additional famous Elementary skin.

It's not right without Taeyeon. :) (Other groups to come, don't say I over-bias! ) :P

Current Desktop, since I'm feeling moodless. Works great and additional GomTV suits everything nicely. Perfect.

& what's more? Additonal of 3GB ram makes it 4Gb for my laptop and it' considerably speeden up my machine more than ever. :)

TRON Legacy - Review

Looks rather similar to the old one.

TRON Legacy? Yeah. I've just watched this movie in 3D a few hours ago. In Malaysia today, it's in teatres a day earlier than the United States. Good for us! :D
Then after watching the movie, the first thing I'm gonna say are the

EFFECTS.

I mean, if you've watched the trailer, It ain't do it justice. The CGI was mind-blowing. Everything was nicely done, effects are (obviously fake) but quite realistic to make you go GAGA. The developers surely did their job well. Then, since it's in 3D, it look quite marvelous.

Secondly is the..

PLOT

As for the plot, the starting point is just kind of like the introduction to the company and what's going on with it. Then some things happened and what do you know, TRON. But mind you though, the 1st few scenes aren't shot in 3D at all. So don't get all pissy or what not. Before it starts there's a notice on that.

But yeah, Like I was saying after the scene where the son gets into THE GRID, then holy moley. All the effects starts to come out. I betcha won't be disappointed if you'd watch this in 3D. :)

But I won't spoil too much on the plot, go watch it. :D

More powerful colours? Yeah. :D

Lastly will be the soundtrack. Let me tell you this..

DAFT PUNK + TRON = AWESOME TO THE MAX

In the middle of the scene, the move started to play the musics, gosh. It was pretty wicked.

The music flows, mixed and beats well. Daft Punk really rocked it out.

So yeah, this is a plus for me. Go check out the soundtrack when it's out. I know I will. :D

Hey there.
I know I've been neglecting my poor blog since I've came here. My fingers are always itching to update the blog but every time there's this SOMETHING that gets in my way. If I'd list it, surely it'll be a freaking long one.

Enough of the blabbering. The main objective for my update today is.. what?

But before I got my hands on that, just last week, I finally got both of my Gee and Genie Japan Albums. It's great that I got the 1st Press edition for Gee but too bad it's not the same for Genie. Before I planned to buy both, I didn't really decide to buy it at all. You know the power of Soshi? Once you seen the real deal, you aoughta wanna have it for yourself. Try it. I DARE YOU. lol

Anyways, didn't manage to take pics for those except for Hoot. I got too excited today. So yeah, take some time off and grab my sis's uber cool camera and shoot. I tried my best to get the right lighting and angle. So yeah.

Hey there. It's been awhile I know. Almost 2 months I think. A lot (when I mean a lot it is A LOT) of changes have been experience nowadays. I've become more independent and for once LESS COMPLAINING. I've came to realise nothing in this world is without drawbacks. It's good to be in this situation once in a while.

So how is the University life you ask?

TIRING & LONG.

Waking up early even when my class starts at 10.30AM is a routine nowadays. Then ends the day of lessons at 5.30PM. You should feel helluva drained at the end of the day. Then if you have assignments to do, what the heck, it's even tiring! But at the end of the day, it's all worth it because I've learned a lot the past few months. Ain't gonna regret it. Then the move now on is to do well throughout the whole semester. What's more? I've got a great class with great people. I ain't joking by the way. ;)

So yeah, another reason for me to be deserting my blog is of course the lack of good internet at home. I sure hope TM gets it done ASAP. It's really a pain in the freaking A$$. Some more, the 3G coverage here is so bad until you can laugh. (It ain't a funny laugh I tell ya)

Now I end this pathetic rant with a crappy pic. I know, I look like crap. Needs to get a haircut :(

I haven't updated my blog for some time, I guess it's time for me to create another post since I have the opportunity to online now. :)

My windows desktop customizations from the 1st day till now.

So this one above me is the current one. I'm quite satisfied with the theme. Looks like Mac OSX right? Well yeah. It's true. But also liked Win7 functions, that is why I mix and match both elements. :P

Inside, the changes are:

Also, apart from that, I've managed to use Mac OSX Snow Leopard on my Notebook. WOOTS!

Meh.. Lazy to blur my fb & friends. But what the heck lah. Doesn't matter. :P
Hope to own MBP of my own someday. :)

KARA Hits the Japan Music Scene by Storm with MR. Album

Other than SNSD, my second love goes to KARA for girl groups. They're simply awesome. :P

KARA Japan debut album was released in Japan on the 11th August 2010.

It took me by surprise when their Japan Album soared till the top 5 in Oricon!!
If you're wondering, Oricon is the number 1 music chart in JAPAN. For a Kpop group? That's simply marvelous. Now you can safely say Kpop is truly dominating the Asian region. :)

I saw AirAsia Fly to Seoul Advertisments a day after a friend informed me of this promotion. o.o

Discover Seoul & find SNSD if they're there. lol

It's cheaper than Malaysia Airlines which will make you RM3/4K poorer only with their air fares. At least for AirAsia X's, it won't go over RM600 per person. Just imagine how much you can save? ~~Then bust it all up shopping in Seoul~~. =x

Apparently RM99 tickets are sold out. But this is still a great choice.

If you plan to have a vacation there. You might as well book now, it's very limited and most probably going to get more expensive a day after another. Speaking of this.. I haz sad feelings. T.T

TM is Throtting MKV & AVI Video Files.

Just thinking of it makes me piss off. My internet quality has been shitty for the pass 6 days now. Yesterday, I've called TM to rectify the issue. It's still unstable yesterday but for today surfing is fine enough. But there's one major problem.

I've check the LowYat Internet Section like I always do. But was shock to found out they're throttling mkv and avi video files.

Is this a joke? We pay the internet to use it but they, (excuse my language) farking TM is making our internet experience rather effed u again. Just now I tried and it's cobbfirmed.
Also, if you like to watch using PPSStream like my friends, you might have a problem now. It's SLOW AS HELL. I hope TM have a good explanation for this. I ain't buying their piracy crap talks. They ven implemented Happy Slowdown Hour. I'm not sure it's from when till when but certainly do exist.

Those who involved in this throttling problem might have to secure better locks. Who knows? Someone who's more pissed off might even went further and drop by their house. lol

HTTP traffic is being identified and throttled regardless of port number. Switched my webserver port over a few ranges but all were capped.

The only solution now is to :

1) Use a HTTP proxy
2) Use a SOCKS proxy
3) Use a VPN

In any case, you will have to have a server in the middle to bypass this cap.

Method 2:

Here is temporary fix to your problem..
Since rar is yet to be throttle.. rename your file extension to rar.. and resume download
example [ .mkv or .avi ---> .rar ]
